The Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority (LGSETA) was established in terms of the Skills Development Act No. 97 of 1998 and is responsible for the facilitation of skills development within the local government sector.

INTERNAL AUDIT DEPARTMENT

The purpose of this position is to assist in the management and implementation of the enterprise-wide risk management strategy, framework, policies and to conduct risk assessment and develop appropriate risk mitigations. To promote a culture of adherence to good corporate governance and compliance within the LGSETA. The incumbent is to provide day-to-day guidance of the Enterprise–Wide Risk Management (ERM) plan and manage the full implementation of the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) to ensure that the LGSETA’s strategic and operational risks are effectively and efficiently managed to manage risks to an acceptable level.
Job Requirements:
Minimum: Postgraduate Honours or master’s qualification in Internal Audit, Accounting or Forensic Audit or Business Administration or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification or ACCA or CA (SA). Experience: Risk management experience as Manager or Senior Risk Manager within the public sector organisation. • 5 years’ Business Continuity Management System implementation experience. • Member of the Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA). • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management (ISO 31 000), COSO frameworks, PFMA/National Treasury, Skills Development legislation. Etc.

- The successful applicant’s remuneration is negotiable, based on a Total-Cost-to-Company package that is inclusive of retirement fund and medical aid employer contribution.
