The Local Government Sector Education and Training Authority (LGSETA) was established in terms of the Skills Development Act No. 97 of 1998 and is responsible for the facilitation of skills development within the local government sector.

This position’s principle accountability is to ensure that training and education programmes are developed and implemented effectively, whilst ensuring that the programme meets the necessary quality standards. Oversee the process of quality assessments, verifications and accreditation according to the Act. Responsible for the design, implementation and maintaining quality assurance processes. overseeing assessments and managing the development and delivery of training program.

Job requirements Minimum: B-Degree in Education Training and Development or related field (NQF Level 7) Ideal: B-Degree in Education Training and Development or related field (NQF Level 7) Plus, a Higher Certificate in Designing Learning Programmed and Related Learning Materials (NQF Level 6).

Experience: A minimum of 9-10 years’ in programme development and education initiatives, of which 5-6 years should be at a managerial level in • The development of qualifications for HET’s and FET’s • Management of a department with multiple reporting structures • Working within the South African Qualifications Authority legal framework/ education or training and development.

  • The successful applicant’s remuneration is negotiable, based on a Total-Cost-to-Company package that is inclusive of retirement fund and medical aid employer contribution.
